There’s something extraordinary about capturing a wedding at the historic Omni Severin Hotel in downtown Indianapolis—especially when it involves a couple as stylish and soulful as Malaika and Devon. Their wedding was a perfect blend of elegance, legacy, and true Black love.

From the moment I arrived to begin photography and videography coverage, I knew this day was going to be iconic. Malaika’s fashion-forward bridal style set the tone: every detail, from her intricately embroidered gown to her sparkling tiara, was worthy of a magazine cover. Devon matched that energy effortlessly in a crisp white tuxedo, exuding confidence and grace.

Her grand staircase bridal portrait, surrounded by flickering candles and lush florals, felt cinematic—a perfect reflection of the luxury they envisioned.

Their ceremony at the Omni was heartfelt and deeply personal. As their vows echoed through the historic ballroom, you could feel the room pause—capturing that moment on film felt like freezing time.

Afterward, we took portraits outside the Indiana War Memorial, where the architecture made them look like royalty. These high-end editorial-style shots are some of my favorites—timeless, dramatic, and elegant.

The reception brought the perfect touch of magic. Their first dance on a low-lying cloud looked straight out of a dream. I used soft, golden lighting to highlight the romance while filming their wedding video, and the moment they laughed and held each other under the chandeliers—that’s what luxury storytelling is all about.
